![]() I contacted the seller and informed him that i need a replacement. I didnt have any problems with this but the problem was that the memory card was not working. The memory card arrived two weeks later from Singapore. I bought a memory card from a seller in the UK. In my experience paypal are always on the side of the buyer. All went well, except I as the seller had to wait a couple of extra weeks AFTER he got his lens to get paid. I used once for a lens I sold to a Japanese buyer who bid against my auction terms and won. Goods, as opposed to using an escrow arrangement. The buyer to have sent money with confirmed receipt and yet no I do find it a bit odd that in these transactions it's the norm for I already wrote him something to this effect in my 'dispute" letter via PayPal. On the other hand, if the lens does show-up I'll be quick to end the dispute and apologize and nothing will be lost - he gets his money, I get my lens. So from this prospective I think I need to file sooner than later - not need to stay out of my $$$ without a lens longer than necessary. he has my phone and e-mail and should have contacted me IMO by now with a shipping information. What is more suspicious is that he only had two transactions for the past three years - these low-use accounts are good candidates for hijacking. he has not, so I think he is a fraud at this point. IMO a seller can contact me if he whishes to. With no problems and it turned out he had computer problems - so I initiated aĬomplaint with Paypal, the lens of course showed up the next day I understand your frustration, but I felt a bit silly when I boughtĪ lens from a US seller last year (I'm in Canada) and it seemedĭelayed with no tracking number, responses etc. If PayPal doesn't fix it for you, your credit card company will. Ultimately you are not going to be liable for any charges on this. Think) 60 days after the charge appears on a statement.Īnyhow, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. In situations like this, I tend to file a dispute with PayPalįirst, and then move on to the credit card company if I'm notįor one thing, you can't always file a credit card dispute before I'll keep you posted on what happens, as this might be of interest for others who might be in a similar situation in the future. Thanks for your thougths and looking for more if anyone has any other suggestions. I think I'll just proceed with a CC claim tonight. I am also not clear if filing a claim with both CC and PayPal would work for or against me for the reason above and posssibly others that I'm not aware of. I paid just a little more than that but I begin to think it might be more hassle to go thru PayPal to get partial reimbursement (if any) then having to go thru my CC company anyway. Seems there is some limit of $250 or so that might be applicable to my situation (the Canadian seller is "personal" rather than "premier" or "business" account, etc.). What is unclear to me is if PayPal would be able to reimburse me in full. ![]()
